About the job
Protect the company and its assets from theft, criminal damage, and other types of crime by conducting gatehouse duties at the site entrances as well as conducting physical security foot/vehicle patrols across the site and reacting to both security and first aid incidents.
Main Areas of Responsibility:
- Conduct security gatehouse duties, controlling traffic and personnel entering and leaving the site, including random vehicle and personnel checks in line with site procedures.
- Provide first aid cover as part of the site’s emergency response plan.
- Conduct physical security patrols by foot and vehicle, including physical checks of the site perimeter fence
- Conduct crime prevention activities, such as routine vehicle searches.
- Perform road safety duties.
- Attend and investigate security intruder and access control alarm activations.
- Presenting a smart, alert, visible and commanding security presence at all times, at the premises of our clients.
- Greeting, assisting, and directing members of the public visiting the premises of our clients.
- Conducting shift handover procedures at the start and end of each shift to ensure all matters of concern or note occurring during a shift are passed on for the purposes of service and incident management continuity.
- Writing complete and accurate handover and incident reports and taking appropriate action as required on all reports passed to the employee at the commencement or during a duty shift.
- Ensuring the safety and security of our clients’ buildings and assets by carrying out all duties in adherence with the Site Assignment Instructions.
- Carry out weighbridge duties, including maintaining accurate records, where applicable.
- IT and customer service interface skills are essential.
About you
Skills & Qualifications:
Essential:
- Valid Front Line SIA Licence
- Valid Clean Driving Licence
- Valid FREC 3 Qualification
- Valid First Aid Qualification
- Able to converse in English to an appropriate level to ensure understanding of site rules, signage and emergency procedures
- Good Customer Interface skills & commercial awareness
- Good Communication - Oral/Written
- Good teamwork Skills
The job holder must be capable of communicating at all levels within the company and with other external agencies. With experience in the security sector, the person must be self-motivated and able to work on their own initiative. The jobholder must have good English writing skills, as a key element of this role is report writing. An in-date SIA license is essential.
